Civita will launch its sixth annual “Sundown Sunday” free summer concert series on June 9 with Liquid Blue, an acclaimed cover band known as the world’s most traveled band, having performed in more than 100 countries. The band’s numerous awards include “America’s Best Dance Band” at the National Music Awards, “Best Cover Band” at the San Diego Music Awards, “Pop Album of the Year” at the Los Angeles Music Awards and a Guinness World Record.
The summer concerts run from 6 -7:30 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater in Civita Park, located at the intersection of Civita Boulevard and Russell Park Way. Bring blankets, beach chairs and picnics or purchase a selection of food truck treats. No glass, please.
Full Strength Funk Band will take the stage on July 14, bringing its 11-piece band and playlist that spans the decades from the classic funk tunes of the ‘70s to the dance hits of today. Full Strength Funk Band is known for a full band section, sweet harmonies, Latin percussion and a tight rhythm section. They perform a song list filled with hits made famous by R&B artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and more.
The Mighty Untouchables performs on August 11. This supreme multi-cultural mix of musicians and singers entertain throughout the world, bringing everything from Motown to classic rock, along with Latin, country, current pop hits, and much more. Their repertoire includes songs from Bruno Mars, Cee Lo Green, Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Prince, Santana, AC/DC, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and Celia Cruz.
Betamaxx will give concertgoers an authentic, ‘80s live music experience on Sept. 8. Betamaxx delivers a non-stop nostalgia-filled, rock concert that keeps the dance floor packed with tunes from Michael Jackson, Madonna, New Wave of New Order, Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode and more. The band started in 2009 at a 40th birthday party jam and evolved into a ‘80s tribute band with an updated feel that plays all over Southern California.
