Congratulations to The New Home Company (NEW HOME), which won the coveted “Attached Community of the Year” award for its Promontory neighborhood at the Building Industry Association of San Diego’s gala Icon Awards, Sept. 15.
NEW HOME also earned “Detached Community of the Year” honors at the 2018 MAME Awards, presented by the North State Building Industry Association, Sept. 14, for its Canyon View community in Rocklin, Calif.
Promontory’s selection as “Attached Community of the Year” is the latest in a long series of major architectural honors for Civita neighborhoods going back to 2012, when Shea Home’s Origen opened in Civita.
That year Origen was honored as “Best Attached Project” in the Icon Awards, “Community of the Year” in the SoCal Awards, and the “Best Multi-Family” Housing Project” in the Gold Nugget Awards. In 2013, Origen was selected the “Neighborhood of the Year” in The Nationals, sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders.
In 2013, Sudberry Properties’ Circa 37 apartment community won “Best Attached Project” award from the Icon Awards and in 2014 Shea Homes won the “Attached Project of the Year” honors from the Icon Awards.
In 2016 and ‘17, Sudberry Properties’ West Park won top architectural honors in the Icon Awards, Gold Nugget Awards and the Icon Awards.
In 2017, Apex by Ryland Homes/CalAtlantic Homes was honored nationally for its architectural design at The Nationals.
“Civita’s unprecedented series of major architectural honors reflects our commitment to design excellence,” said Marco Sessa, senior vice president of Sudberry Properties, developer of the master-planned urban village.
“From the inception of the Civita plan, we have worked with our guest builders and our design team to ensure the community incorporates both cutting-edge architecture and the latest sustainability practices,” he said. “It’s a combination that has led to resident satisfaction and industry accolades.”
