West Park, which offers apartment homes in a resort setting, and Apex, which offers tri-level detached homes, were both recognized for their exceptional architecture.
CalAtlantic Home’s Apex Plan 1 at Civita received the Award of Merit for “Best Single-Family Detached Home (2,000-2,499 square feet).” Earlier this year, Apex Plan 1 was honored in the National Association of Home Builders’ The Nationals competition for “Best Architectural Design of a Single-Family Detached Home priced from $750,000 to $1 Million.” The same plan also received top design honors at the Icon Awards sponsored by the San Diego Building Industry Association.
West Park at Civita, Sudberry Properties’ newest apartment community, won two Awards of Merit at the Gold Nugget Awards, including “Best Multifamily Housing Community (60-100 du/acre)” and “Best Residential Housing Project of the Year — Attached in an Urban Setting.”
“Gold Nugget Award winners reflect our industry’s best, brightest and most innovative architects, planners and builder/developers,” said judging chairman and Gold Nugget ceremonies administrator Lisa Parrish.
Now in it’s 53rd year, GNA is the largest and most prestigious competition of its kind in the nation. It honors design and planning achievements in community and home design, green-built housing, site planning, commercial, retail, mixed-use development and specialty housing categories. Winners this year were chosen from 665 entries from around the world.
