History
The Grants are a family with a long and heartfelt connection to San Diego. Franklin and Alta Grant arrived here in 1912, and shortly after they acquired land in Mission Valley. Hoping to find oil, Franklin discovered rock instead. The Grants reared 5 sons, the eldest being Russell, who assisted his parents with managing their holdings in Mission Valley which is now being transformed into Civita. Over the past 70 years, the property has been mined for aggregate. In keeping with Alta's wishes, Uncle Russell ensured that her grandchildren inherited the property upon his passing in 1997. The Grant Cousins have been determined to see their property, located at the very center of Mission Valley, be put to the best possible civic use. Their ability to find a partner like Sudberry has been a cornerstone to maintaining this focus. A San Diego Legacy. Meet Sudberry Development. Sudberry Development is a San Diego based real estate development and asset management firm that specializes in quality shopping center projects and mixed-use urban communities.
